Licensing Team Gets Crafty at National Hardware Show

Davison News, Product News

Davison Licensing

Continuing to “try longer” to get that Davison “D” on store shelves, our Licensing Team recently attended the 67th National Hardware Show in Las Vegas.

Our President and Vice President of Business Development and Licensing packed their bags and headed to “Sin City” with a few goals in mind.

“The objective at the show is to meet with existing companies we present products to, meet with new prospective companies we want to present products to, network with REP groups [and] take part in buyer meetings and discussions.  The goal each time we attend shows is to continue to advance exposure for our clients and their ideas,” said our President.

According to our President, there were two key exhibits displaying Davison designs.

“We had products that were exhibiting in the booths of Drillcraft and On the Edge Marketing,” he said.

Our President also informed us that Drillcraft and On the Edge Marketing certainly were not the only companies that were interested in the Davison “D!”  Check out the long list of retailers that our President and VP met with at the show:

National Hardware Show“The Fulham Group, Ontel Products, Zibra, Dynamic Paint Products, Century Drill Tools, Drillcraft Tools, Trillium Worldwide, JGR Copa, Camp Chef, Nothern International, Mac Sports, On the Edge Marketing, Char Broil, Wild Sports, Len Fest Media and Metro Designs,” said our President.

In addition to meeting with all of those companies, he explained that follow-up meetings at Inventionland and other facilities were planned with a few companies, too!

“[Our VP] actually followed up with a company tour of On the Edge Marketing’s facility while on a trip to a buyer meeting with Petco,” said our President.

And, the end result of all of these meetings?

“Davison is committed to improving the method from idea to store shelf, so that Davison clients have the best opportunity for exposure when it comes to getting noticed.  Davison is slowly, but surely, strengthening the road from idea to store shelf, refining the stages that are critical in getting noticed,” he said.  “These meetings have allowed us to continue to shore-up the hardware and lawn and garden categories, which will benefit our clients tremendously!”

We’ve got TONS of photos to share from our VP’s On the Edge Marketing tour and a few more photos from the National Hardware Show, too:

While Davison regularly attends trade shows in a number of industries, it does not promise that any particular client product will be, or is likely to be, presented or discussed at a trade show.

The “Mothers Who Love to Cook Gift Guide” post features our client (mother and grandmother!) Jean’s idea, the Meatball Baker!

Spilsbury calls her gift list, which features several innovative cooking items, the “best of the web for that special mom” and says that she “personally hand-picked each of [the] fabulous items as something [she] would love to receive.”

 Meatball Baker

Specifically, Spilsbury says the Meatball Baker is a “brilliant baking pan [that] produces beautiful meatballs.”

She even mentions Jean’s innovative thinking when she says, “This product was invented by a mom who got tired of having her meatballs fall apart.”

Also making Spilsbury’s list were other big-name kitchen brands like Le Crueset, Pyrex and Cuisinart.

Davison InventorJean’s Meatball Baker was licensed by Chicago Metallic and currently sells there for $21.99.

So, if you’re still trying to decide how to pamper your mom this Mother’s Day, consider doing it the Davison-designed way!

“Dare to Invent” Creeps Up on Uninvited House Guests!

Davison News, Featured Invention, Inventor Stories, Product News

It’s time again to release another exciting “Dare to Invent” webisode.  This week, our creationeers are getting… well, a bit creepy!

The seventh in our innovative 13-episode series features Pennsylvania native, Julian Smith, inventor of “The Best Stink Bug Trap Ever!”  The new webisode is NOW crawling on YouTube and Davison.com!

Just like you and me, Julian was your average, everyday person; but, Julian’s home was filled with uninvited house guests… stink bugs!

Now, we all know there are plenty of bug repellents and traps on the market.  Unfortunately, existing products didn’t seem to “put the boot” to Julian’s smelly visitors!

So, he took matters into his own hands and even created a model stink bug trap out of a soda bottle.  He brought his idea and working trap to Davison.

Tim, a talented team of Inventionland Creationeers and one very cooperative “test-bug” began buzzing away to make Julian’s trap appealing to bug victims and a friendly-fit for companies’ product lines.  After some intense testing and even a feature on a local news channel, Julian’s “The Best Stink Bug Trap Ever” is ready for production and to see the light of store shelves!

Tune in NOW to see all of the hilarious details as Julian “Dares to Invent!”

We’ve also compiled a few photos to get your mind crawling!

“Meatball Queen” Becomes “Avon Lady!”

Product News

Davison Products

We knew when our client, “Jean, Jean – the Meatball Queen,” came to us with her idea for a way to make healthier, less-greasy meatballs, she was definitely on to something.

Now, we’re finding out just how “on” she was… Jean is AVON!  Well, at least her Meatball Baker is!

Davison Meatball BakerThat’s right, in the most recent Avon catalog and on Avon online, the Davison-designed Meatball Baker is selling for $24.99!

According to “the company for women,” the Meatball Baker is “a healthier alternative to making yummy meatballs!”

While we all know the Meatball Baker, which was licensed by Xtraordinary Home Products, is a great tool for both male and female cooks, we couldn’t agree more that it is the perfect way to make delicious meatballs!

You may recall, this is not the first time Jean has “made it big” with the Meatball Baker.  When Inventionland was featured on CBS’ The Early Show in August, Jean was also featured in the interactive segment that showed her and her product in action!
