New health products ease sprain and strain recovery

PITTSBURGH - March 21, 2007 - A new line of health products uses patented hot/cold gel with a brace system to ease sprain and strain recovery, while allowing for mobility.

Davison Design and Development, a Pittsburgh product development firm, developed a line of therapy braces for Health Enterprises' Acu-Life brand, which were recently private-labeled to a national pharmacy retailer. The 360° Hot & Cold Therapy Brace products combine a 3-in-1 system, using a gel that can be warmed or chilled within a brace for knees, elbows and ankles. The line also includes a brace for wrists invented by a Davison client.

The products meet three of the five required steps in the doctor-recommended PRICE treatment -- protection, rest, ice, compression and elevation -- while allowing user comfort.

Davison Design and Development is a new product development company and home of Inventionland, the world's most innovative workspace. Last year the firm, which works with inventors, corporations and entrepreneurs, was recognized by the Industrial Designers Society of America and BusinessWeek magazine, winning two Industrial Design Excellence Awards.
