I.D. Magazine Selects Davison’s 360° Wrist Therapy Brace for Award in Annual Design Review Competition

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PITTSBURGH, PA. – August 25, 2008 – I.D. Magazine recently awarded Davison Design’s innovative 360° Wrist Therapy Brace an honorable mention in the consumer products category of its annual design competition.

I.D. Magazine’s Annual Design Review has chronicled the best in design and its impact on our culture since 1954. Other winning innovators in this year’s showcase, featured in the August issue, include Apple, HP, Nokia and Revlon.

“I’m proud to be recognized by I.D. Magazine for the second straight year,” said Mr. Davison, a “serial inventor,” according to the I.D. judges. “It’s nice to be recognized when you’re designing products of this caliber.”

The simple yet highly functional 360° Wrist Therapy Brace treats, protects and supports injured and afflicted wrists without limiting mobility. The versatile product can be used on either wrist and is microwaveable and freezable with an absorbent gel core that locks in cold or heat to ensure lasting thermal therapy.

According to the summary printed in I.D., “The judges unanimously loved the 360° Wrist Brace.” One judge proclaimed that the product was a “great idea,” while another complimented the color and how easy it was to put on with only one hand.

The 360° Wrist Therapy Brace, conceptualized by client Robert Huffman, is the second Davison-designed product to appear in I.D. It is licensed to Health Enterprises and sold in a national pharmacy chain under the store’s private label and in many other stores under the Acu-Life brand.

“It’s amazing,” said Huffman. “I had no doubts in my mind it would get marketed, but I never thought I’d win an award.”

In 2007, Davison’s Jack ‘N Stand received an honorable mention in the concept design category of I.D. Magazine’s annual review competition. I.D. Magazine also recognized “Inventionland,” Davison’s creative workspace, as one of “40 Amazing-Looking Design Offices” in the January/February 2008 issue. Additionally, in 2006, Davison received two Industrial Design Excellence awards from the Industrial Designers Society of America and BusinessWeek magazine.
