Davison raises money for Habitat for Humanity after Hurricane Katrina

Like most people, our company was devastated by the horrific damage that Hurricane Katrina caused and wanted to lend a hand. After researching many worthwhile organizations, we chose to raise money for Habitat for Humanity because these funds were to be used for fixing and rebuilding homes in the Gulf Coast region that were affected by this tragedy. In addition, this organization encompasses a creative environment where a united group of individuals work together to design and build something that enhances people’s lives, which is what Davison is all about as well.

Our employees raised $2075 and our company matched every $100 raised with a check for $2000. As a group, we donated $4075 to this great cause! The funds were presented by Mr. Davison, our CEO and president, and some of our employees to the local representative for Habitat for Humanity at the Hike for Housing 1K, 3K, or 5K Walk/Run in RIDC Park. This event was held by Fox Chapel Area Schools and raised additional funds for hurricane relief. Besides being the main sponsor of this event, our company also donated two BikeBoards (a Davison-designed product), the use of our grounds, and one of our parking lots for registration and event kick-off festivities. Many Davison employees were on hand to assist.
