John wanted to put a smile on children’s faces so we helped him create one of the best kids gifts ever. It all started with John watching his kids when they were biking, skating and surfing and he got an idea. He thought that by combining a bike, skateboard and surfboard that a new riding toy could be created. We worked with him on figuring out how to combine all three effectively, and we created a new type of “BikeBoard“ that kids can ride and “carve”on like a surfboard.

We did the pre-development and development on his idea and then presented it to a corporation that wanted to launch it into the market. They signed an agreement to pay him royalties on each one sold for the life of the product. His product earned him a profit and it turned out to be one of the best recreational gifts ever. It was sold by Dick’s Sporting Goods, F.A.O. Schwarz toy stores, Dunham’s, surf shops and more.

Bikeboard has sold in:

Dunham's Sports
FAO Schwarz
Modell's Sporting Goods

The “after” in the above case study is not meant to represent that all ideas go to market, get licensed and sell in stores and online. All ideas have their own journey. Some ideas go on to make history while others at least fail while daring greatly. Davison offers our clients an informative experience that utilizes our technology and leverages our dedicated team of project managers, designers, builders, and licensing agents who walk side by side with our inventors on their journey every step of the way. Davison charges fees for services. The typical inventor’s product is not licensed, profitable or sold in stores.
