A Better Way to Tan

Davison Designed App Idea: Alertan

Available on the App Store

The Problem:

Protecting your skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays is no joking matter. Each year, thousands of people are diagnosed with skin cancer – and overexposure to the sun is a major contributing factor. Experts advise using sunscreen, but people often don’t know when to reapply, until it’s too late.

Davison's Better Way:

Alertan was invented as a way to predict when you should reapply sunscreen. Thanks to this app, users can now get the most out of their day by the pool, ocean, or just relaxing outdoors. By factoring your skin type, the SPF of the lotion you’re using, and the days UV forecast, Alertan calculates how long your sunscreen should be effective before you need to reapply or get out of the sun.
