Two weeks ago, the Davison Licensing Team attended the 2017 National Hardware Show in Las Vegas. While at the show, Licensing got the chance to meet with some new companies who are interested in doing business with Davison and to work on building existing relationships.

Some of the new business opportunities coming out of the show are coming to us from a company called Core Pacific, which is interested in ideas relating to plumbing or storage items. Other companies include continued work with Jay Trends, Northern International, Mac Sports, and Lippert Components.

A majority of these companies are looking for ideas relating to camping gear, outdoor gear, outdoor patio lighting solutions and storage solutions.

Back in February, our CEO and Founder, George Davison took a trip to The Container Store to see if he could find our client Jennifer’s Hanger Pocket Accessory Organizer product, which keeps clothes and accessories neatly organized. The trip to the store was a success and Mr. D was able to locate her product under a private label!

We shared news of Mr. D visiting The Container Store to hunt down Davison client Jennifer’s Hanger Pockets that were private-labeled. Now, we’re sharing even more evidence of the Davison ‘D’ at The Container Store.

Another successful trip to The Container Store! Mr. D was able to locate several more Davison client products under both their original packaging and under private labels. “We’re hearing that a lot of our inventions keep showing up at The Container Store!” said Mr. D. Well it’s safe to say that after this trip to The Container Store we have found even more evidence of the Davison ‘D’ on shelves!

“It’s just another wonderful example of how an idea comes to be!” said founder Mr. George Davison (“Mr. D”), excited to venture to The Container Store following great news for Davison client Jennifer’s Hanger Pocket Accessory Organizer product, which keeps clothes and accessories neatly organized.

“We found out that the product has also been private-labeled by The Container Store!” said Mr. D, noting that Jennifer’s Hanger Pockets have already found success in versions available through other stores.

Upon learning this news, Mr. D took a special trip to The Container Store’s Pittsburgh, PA location, which opened last October, following a private preview party. It was an exciting moment for Mr. D at the store as he prepared to give a special shout to Jennifer on the success of her invention idea.

Diana couldn’t stand to see her precious pets panting from the heat. Through our product development process, Davison was able to bring designs for Diana’s “Chilly Mat” to life and to store shelves! After selling in stores like Home Depot, Wayfair and HugsPetProducts.com, the Chilly Mat made its way into the hands and packaging of pet-lover Paula Deen!

Jennifer came to Davison with her idea for Hanger Pockets as a convenient way to organize and pair accessories with their matching outfits! Though she loved the original product design and packaging, when she found out it was being licensed and repackaged under her cooking and baking mentor Paula Deen’s Everyday collection for Jokari/US, Inc., she was thrilled!

If there’s one well known QVC chef that knows how to cook healthier, it’s Chef Tony Notaro! So, how perfect would it be that Davison client Jean’s Meatball Baker that elevates meatballs out of their own grease when baking would stir up an idea for yet another new product? The Bacon Baker became part of Love Cooking Company’s Chef Tony line of healthy bakeware.

Justin’s Dessert Diva

Davison client Justin had an idea for a better way to carry and serve tasty treats and desserts. While his original product was licensed to Love Cooking Company, who would have thought that an entire line of new carry and serve options would later be derived from Justin’s original product! After a tiring, yet exciting few days, another International Home + Housewares Show is in the books!

Before we left for the trade show, we filled you in on some exciting licensing news. As you might recall, our client Jennifer’s product, Hanger Pockets, which organizes and keep outfits and matching accessories all in one place, was on display at the Jokari corporation’s booth!

Of course, the excitement didn’t stop there. In fact, that’s where it began. Jennifer’s innovative storage solution is now available under Jokari’s Paula Deen Everyday collection.

As you can see, the Hanger Pockets packaging was revamped and the collection made its debut at the major housewares industry trade show. Though the product is not yet available for purchase, be sure to stay tuned as it’s coming soon!

Celebrity chef Paula Deen even made an appearance at the housewares show to personally share new products under her collection. Of course, no trade show is complete without celebrity appearances!

Our founder and CEO Mr. George Davison was extremely busy at the trade show, but slowed down to take a few photographs with Paula Deen, American celebrity wedding planner David Tutera and QVC’s Chef Tony!

All three of these creative celebrities had items showcased at either the Jokari booth or Love Cooking Company booth.

Speaking of Love Cooking Company, on Saturday, Chef Tony showcased his new bacon products. But, these weren’t just any products, because one was inspired by our client Jean’s original product, the Meatball Baker!

It’s safe to say that IHHS 2016 was quite the success. There’s more where that came from as trade show season has just begun!

Earlier this month, we shared our SHOT Show recap and other exciting trade show news.

Since then, a lot of preparation, hard work, fun and excitement all come together as we kick our efforts into high gear to get ready for yet another trade show.

This weekend is the International Housewares Association’s International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago, Illinois. From March 5^th – 8^th, companies will be putting in the extra time and effort to showcase their latest and greatest products.

What better way to amp up the excitement into trade show weekend than by sharing the recent feedback of an excited client!

Our client, Jennifer, came to Davison with her idea for organizing and keeping outfits and matching accessories together. With her vision in mind, our friends at Inventionland created a two-sided saddle design with zipper mesh and dual clear pouches and a convenient carrying handle that fits perfectly over a hanger.

Jennifer’s invention was licensed by the Jokari Corporation and has already sold in stores like Bed Bath & Beyond!

Though Jennifer loved the original packaging on her product in stores, she was further elated to see updated packaging thanks to a major packaging makeover of Jokari’s entire line of products. And because of Jokari’s newly acquired license with Paula Deen, Jennifer’s Hanger Pockets will be packaged under a “Paula Deen Everyday” line with Jokari as well!

“Hello…just checking in to say hi and say how happy I am with the new Jokari packaging and especially for my Hanger Pockets! I am also head over heels that it is in the Paula Deen everyday line. I think she is wonderful and look up to her as a kind of mentor in my cooking and baking style ~ and have done so for years! I am thrilled…Inventors rock!” said Jennifer.

We’re thrilled, too! And Jokari isn’t the only company that will be touting products with the Davison “D.” In fact, Love Cooking Company will be showcasing some of the products that we’ve licensed with them as well!

If you’ll be in attendance at IHHS 2016, don’t forget to stop by the Jokari booth (S1805) and Love Cooking Company booth (S1705) to see these products on display!
