It’s trade show season and this time of the year proves to be both busy and exciting for Davison.

Recently, we sent two of our Managing Senior Licensing Directors to the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show and Conference (SHOT Show) as well as the annual Consumer Technology Association’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

We nurtured relationships with companies, discovered industry trends and brought all of this information and more back to Davison to share with our inventors.

It’s this excitement and productivity that has us taking a look back to celebrate some wins from last year’s SuperZoo, The National Show for Pet Retailers!

At this event last year, our friends at Hugs Pet Products unveiled their partnership with celebrity chef Paula Deen for their line of dog food, treats and pet products. But, that’s not all; they also showcased our client Diane’s Hydro line of cooling pet chew toys!

It was at this trade show that a line of pet items for both dogs and cats alike that were designed and engineered by the creative minds over at Inventionland were showcased at the Hugs booth.

But, before these items could make their debut at last year’s SuperZoo, the design and build teams at Inventionland were hard at work putting the finishing touches on Hugs Pet Products’ massage grooming tools.

Piece by piece, the brushes came together.

Now, our licensing team, Hugs Pet Products and the Creationeers over at Inventionland are in the trade show mentality again and are working towards the Global Pet Expo in March.

As we’re in the midst of trade show season, we’re kicking our efforts into overdrive to help our clients bring the best of the best to their inventions.

The excitement has been kicked up a notch for our licensing team, Hugs Pet Products and Creationeers at Inventionland, because this brand new line of massage grooming products recently hit the market.

Now, these tools are being sold through Hugs Pet Products.

This line includes six brushes made with natural bamboo:

Though these products are being sold online, they’ll also be showcased in their final form at the Hugs booth during the Global Pet Expo in March!

Paula Deen had quite the presence at the Hugs’ booth, where the company showcased items that ranged from Deen’s new dog food line to our client Diane’s Hydro line of cooling pet chew toys!

And, it seems that buyers (and their pets) thought our client Diana’s invention idea, the Chillz Comfort Cooling Gel Pet Pad, was pretty cool, too!

Once again, it looks like the products and packaging that we designed have made quite a splash with trade show attendees! Here’s even more proof from SuperZoo 2015 in Las Vegas:

Our friends over at Inventionland sent us a behind-the-scenes look from last week as they worked hard to finish the Massaging Groomers’ prototypes and display by deadline!

So without further ado, here is a first look at a new line of pet products that will be front and center at the Hugs Pet Products’ booth, #1137!

This is just a glimpse at the innovation we designed for Hugs Pet Products that will take center stage starting tomorrow at the 2015 SuperZoo!

It’s hard to believe, but the 2015 SuperZoo is right around the corner!

In case you didn’t know, SuperZoo is the National Show for Pet Retailers and will be held from Tuesday, July 21 through Thursday, July 23 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Forget about the saying, “What happens in Vegas…stays in Vegas,” because we are going to fetch all of the exciting SuperZoo news and throw it right back to you!

As we speak, our friends over at Hugs Pet Products, who‘ve licensed several of our innovative pet products, are getting ready for an exciting couple of days at the major pet industry trade show.

As a leader in products that keep pets cool, Hugs will obviously be bringing along their most popular cooling products that we designed for them. These include the Arctic Freeze and Hydro lines!

But, that’s not all! Hugs will also be showcasing their new copper healing line and they’ll be revealing a variety of other new products, too!

All of the hype that we’ve built up around this year’s SuperZoo in Las Vegas has finally arrived! The National Show for Pet Retailers starts today and lasts through Thursday!

Nearly 50 of our new pet products will be featured at the annual trade show. While there, we will show off our latest designs to those in attendance!

Among the lineup of new pet products we’re debuting at this year’s SuperZoo, retailers will be able to see grooming products, beds, leashes, toys and more! We’ve even got new products for dogs and cats!

Today, we’re heating things up and taking you back to the long, sunny days of summer when we first introduced a few Davison-designed cat toys.

At the time, Hugs Pet Products, who licensed the innovative line that promises to keep cats occupied for hours, was preparing to showcase the toys at one of the pet product industry’s biggest trade shows, SuperZoo in Las Vegas.

Well, since that time the weather has turned colder, but some pretty purr-fect things have been happening for the toys, which are proving to be hot – hot – HOT!

“Look what hit Petco stores…” said Davison Vice President of Business Development and Licensing, when he shared a photo of the line on store shelves earlier this month.

That’s right, several toys in Hugs’ innovative cat line have landed (on all four-feet, of course) on the shelves at the leading pet specialty retailer. Of course, we’re “feline” pretty good about the placement!

“Hugs and Inventionland are excited to finally see the new innovative cat items starting to hit PETCO stores. The six new items look great on the store shelf and we look forward to the continued success with Petco in this category,” said Simbeck.

Check out the Wobble Ball, Mouse Trap, Teeter Rocker, Wibble Wobble, Whack-A-Mouse and Purr-Fect Ball on Petco shelves.

Among a total of nearly 900 exhibitors, the National Show for Pet Retailers showcased our licensing partner, Hugs Pet Products, who was happy to show off several Davison designs.

According to our representatives, Hugs debuted their 2013 catalog at the show, along with retailer-favorite Davison designs, like the Hydro Toys and the adorable Pugz collection of apparel and accessories.

“We had interest from everywhere! We saw major retailers and industry spokespeople like Wendy Diamond and Charlotte Reed. Plus, we met with magazine reps from Dog Fancy and Modern Dog,” said Vossler, who also told us that Hugs’ social media presence helped them connect with an even larger audience.

“Social media played a major part in gaining visitors to the booth. We were able to interact with other attendees and spark interest in our booth and products.”

One of those wildly-popular products was Hugs’ new Davison-designed Jaws collection, a dynamic chew toy line with soft rubber tines that massage gums and remove plaque, plus an edible treat to keep dogs satisfied for hours. Vossler said SuperZoo attendees really bit on to that line and more!

“Everyone loved the new products, especially the Pugz and Jaws lines,” said Vossler.

While it sounds like it may have been all work and no play for our team while they were in Vegas, we’ve got proof that there was some time for rubbing elbows with a reality-TV star.

They were able to meet Holly Madison from “The Girls Next Door,” who is also pawing into the pet product industry with her new company, Lucky Pet Products.

This time, they’ve recruited the help of some of our very talented and always inventive Creationeers.  Judging from the photo (Jason Rogge with another Creationeer asleep in the car), our creative team has been working so hard that they’ve been having a hard time keeping up… or staying up!

We checked in with Davison’s Vice President of Business Development and Licensing to see what kind of pet product news we could dig up!

“We have lots going on,” said our VP, with the same sly grin he gives when he’s about to tempt us with big news.  “I am going to Bed Bath & Beyond this week… and PetSmart next week with Hugs Pet Products to discuss the Toys R Us pet line we are working on with them.”

While he didn’t divulge any more top secret information, we’ll be eagerly waiting to share the latest product news, just as soon as we hear it!

What we can share is the MASSIVE list of places where our team will be “trying longer” to get Davison-designed pet products on store shelves this fall!

In August alone, our team will be meeting with Walgreens in Chicago and Bed Bath & Beyond in New York, not to mention attending the C & S Fall Show, West Plains Vet Show and the MidStates Fall Show.

September brings more meetings and more trade show exposure.  First up is product review at Menards in Wisconsin; then, it’s off to the Siemer Enterprises Fall Show in Illinois, and back to Wisconsin for the Prince Distributors Fall Show.  Finally, it’s all the way to Las Vegas for the SuperZoo Show!

Product reviews and trade shows continue in October, when our team revisits Menards in Wisconsin and attends the H.H. Backer Christmas Show and Non-Foods Marketing Show in Chicago and Atlanta, respectively.

A Hugs Pet Products representative also spilled the beans on some upcoming Hugs products that you may see on the stores shelves at Bed Bath & Beyond and Petco this fall.

“Coming soon… Pugz apparel line [which includes] harnesses, coats, leg warmers and throws!” he said, also adding that the company is working on a line of cat toys, too!

With all of this awesome news from the road, we think our licensing partner summed it up best for us.

“As you can see, we are very busy doing everything we can to get in front of customers and prospects,” he said.
