Earlier this month, we shared our SHOT Show recap and other exciting trade show news.

Since then, a lot of preparation, hard work, fun and excitement all come together as we kick our efforts into high gear to get ready for yet another trade show.

This weekend is the International Housewares Association’s International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago, Illinois. From March 5^th – 8^th, companies will be putting in the extra time and effort to showcase their latest and greatest products.

What better way to amp up the excitement into trade show weekend than by sharing the recent feedback of an excited client!

Our client, Jennifer, came to Davison with her idea for organizing and keeping outfits and matching accessories together. With her vision in mind, our friends at Inventionland created a two-sided saddle design with zipper mesh and dual clear pouches and a convenient carrying handle that fits perfectly over a hanger.

Jennifer’s invention was licensed by the Jokari Corporation and has already sold in stores like Bed Bath & Beyond!

Though Jennifer loved the original packaging on her product in stores, she was further elated to see updated packaging thanks to a major packaging makeover of Jokari’s entire line of products. And because of Jokari’s newly acquired license with Paula Deen, Jennifer’s Hanger Pockets will be packaged under a “Paula Deen Everyday” line with Jokari as well!

“Hello…just checking in to say hi and say how happy I am with the new Jokari packaging and especially for my Hanger Pockets! I am also head over heels that it is in the Paula Deen everyday line. I think she is wonderful and look up to her as a kind of mentor in my cooking and baking style ~ and have done so for years! I am thrilled…Inventors rock!” said Jennifer.

We’re thrilled, too! And Jokari isn’t the only company that will be touting products with the Davison “D.” In fact, Love Cooking Company will be showcasing some of the products that we’ve licensed with them as well!

No, you didn’t read that headline incorrectly. We said that the Hanger Pockets we designed at Inventionland for our client Jennifer have some serious “Tex Appeal!”

Now, what on earth did we mean?

The clothing accessory organizer that conveniently slips over a hanger, allowing users to keep their outfits carefully coordinated, has been featured in the September issue of a Central Texas life and style magazine, aptly named “Tex Appeal.”

According to their website, Tex Appeal is “fascinating, alluring, engaging, tempting, influencing, and charming… all about Central Texas living . . . the people, the places, and the things that make us appealing.”

In their September 2014 issue, Tex Appeal writers featured an article that told the story of how Hanger Pockets came to be. Not only was a Davison inventor and her product featured in the magazine, but our founder and CEO Mr. Davison contributed to the story as well!

In a one-on-one interview with our inventor, Jennifer, she reveals that she originally signed with Davison in 2008, but it took her over two years to save the funds to move her idea forward. Our client said that even when her idea moved forward, there was a lot of waiting around.

“When I did hear, I got rejections from several manufacturers. At that point, I decided to put the matter in God’s hands and move forward with my life,” Jennifer said.

Early in 2014, Jennifer got a call that was not a rejection, but a licensing agreement with the Jokari Corporation. Though she was overjoyed, she said that she, again, waited another six month for her Hanger Pockets to hit the market.

“Be sure you have a strong support network also, because you will go through a roller coaster of emotions – you need people around who will believe in you and listen. You also have to walk by faith and not what you can see at the moment,” said Jennifer.

Mr. Davison said that Jennifer’s product is off to a great start, thanks to her persistence to pursue her idea.

“Hanger Pockets is off to a good start; it’s gotten the kind of response we hoped to get… [Jennifer] had an idea that worked and Jokari was happy with it, too. This is a win-win for all parties involved,” said Mr. Davison.

The two products are showcased together on a rotating slider on Jokari’s homepage.

These Davison-designed products offer the consumer a better way to organize their closets. In fact, Jokari said that the Hanger Pockets “organize your accessories right on the hanger… Perfect for everyday, travel and special occasions.”

Jokari went on to say that the Hanger Links are “great for scarves, belts, ties and more! [They] link together for more storage.”

The Jokari homepage was only the first stop for these two products. In fact, both are featured in the company’s product catalog!

After seeing our Davison-designed products on Jokari’s website and in their catalog, we think that it’s safe to say that we’re already “hooked” now and can’t wait to see these products soar onto store shelves!
