It’s hard to believe, but after the hustle and bustle of preparing for the Global Pet Expo, the pet industry’s largest annual trade show has come to a close for another year.

As we mentioned in a previous blog, we were hard at work putting the finishing touches on our Davison-licensed products that were heading to the Global Pet Expo.

This year, Managing Senior Director of Licensing Matt made his way to Orlando, Florida for the trade show on our behalf.

While at the show, Matt picked up on some trends in the pet industry – food and treats, toys, and leashes seemed to be hot-ticket items that were spurring trade show-goer interest.

But there were several other items spurring interest, according to Matt. This year was very successful for both Davison and for Hugs Pet Products, who license many Davison-designed products.

“Hugs did very well,” said Matt. “There were times when I walked by their booth that every rep there was talking with someone and there were interested people still standing around waiting to hear about the products.”

At this year’s trade show, our friends at Hugs Pet Products were able to showcase some of their new items at the Expo’s “New Product Showcase.”

Hugs featured their Paula Deen Premium Select Pet Food, their brand-new line of Massaging Groomers, the Puff Pad and their recently-unveiled Realtree Dog Treats.

Matt also mentioned that words like “Innovative” and “Interesting” were used to describe the Massaging Groomers brushes including the Palm Brush, Pin Brush, and Slicker Brush.

Thanks to Matt’s updates, we can see that the excitement didn’t stop when the Global Pet Expo ended. In fact, it’s just begun!

As one trade show has come to a close, another one has just begun!

Today through Friday, March 18^th, the Global Pet Expo is taking place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida!

Just like we did for the International Home + Housewares Show, we’ve been in preparation mode as the final touches were made to displays for Davison-licensed products that are heading to the pet industry’s largest annual trade show.

Just last month, we celebrated wins that followed another large pet industry trade show – last year’s SuperZoo, The National Show for Pet Retailers – when a new line of Massaging Groomer pet brushes for our friends at Hugs Pet Products reached a stroke of product success as they hit market. This line of brushes will now be showcased at Global Pet Expo this week!

The excitement doesn’t stop there, because beyond products like the brushes that have reached market and are seeking even further interest from buyers at the show, products that we licensed with Paula Deen and some other big-name celebrities and brands (that we can’t name just yet) will also be on display at the Global Pet Expo!

The Davison “D” will proudly be on display at the Hugs Pet Products booth (#2651) for all trade show-goers to see!

It’s trade show season and this time of the year proves to be both busy and exciting for Davison.

Recently, we sent two of our Managing Senior Licensing Directors to the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show and Conference (SHOT Show) as well as the annual Consumer Technology Association’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

We nurtured relationships with companies, discovered industry trends and brought all of this information and more back to Davison to share with our inventors.

It’s this excitement and productivity that has us taking a look back to celebrate some wins from last year’s SuperZoo, The National Show for Pet Retailers!

At this event last year, our friends at Hugs Pet Products unveiled their partnership with celebrity chef Paula Deen for their line of dog food, treats and pet products. But, that’s not all; they also showcased our client Diane’s Hydro line of cooling pet chew toys!

It was at this trade show that a line of pet items for both dogs and cats alike that were designed and engineered by the creative minds over at Inventionland were showcased at the Hugs booth.

But, before these items could make their debut at last year’s SuperZoo, the design and build teams at Inventionland were hard at work putting the finishing touches on Hugs Pet Products’ massage grooming tools.

Piece by piece, the brushes came together.

Now, our licensing team, Hugs Pet Products and the Creationeers over at Inventionland are in the trade show mentality again and are working towards the Global Pet Expo in March.

As we’re in the midst of trade show season, we’re kicking our efforts into overdrive to help our clients bring the best of the best to their inventions.

The excitement has been kicked up a notch for our licensing team, Hugs Pet Products and Creationeers at Inventionland, because this brand new line of massage grooming products recently hit the market.

Now, these tools are being sold through Hugs Pet Products.

This line includes six brushes made with natural bamboo:

Though these products are being sold online, they’ll also be showcased in their final form at the Hugs booth during the Global Pet Expo in March!

The Global Pet Expo begins today in Orlando, Florida, and we are excited to see what the next few days have in store for the pet product industry!

Why? Because the Orange County Convention Center floor is the stage for Hugs Pet Products to showcase their latest and greatest products!

But, that’s not the only reason that we are excited. In fact, two Davison-designed products that are licensed with Hugs Pet Products will be on display at the pet industry’s largest annual trade show!

The Chillz Mat as well as the Silicone Dog Treat Pan, which are both client inventions, will be in the lime light at the Hugs Pet Products booth!

Could you imagine seeing your own pet product or other new invention idea being displayed at the Global Pet Expo or another big industry trade show, too? Though a typical Davison-developed product is not shown at a trade show, this doesn’t mean that you still shouldn’t pursue your invention dreams. If you want to possibly turn your idea into a tangible product, take the first step, and submit your idea, today!

Recently, the Silicone Dog Treat Pan and Pugz shoes have shared some major media attention.

For our four-legged, tail-wagging, homemade-treat-loving friends, it’s a dog-eat-treat world and Modern Dog (MD) magazine confirmed it when they featured the Davison-designed Silicone Dog Treat Pan in their spring issue.

The pan, which was licensed by Hugs Pet Products, appeared in MD’s “Stuff Your Dog Wants” feature that also included other canine must-haves like chewable elk antlers and a hemp Eco Rattler.

“… whether you’re baking dog biscuits or making pupsicles, its got you covered… now who wants a treat?” the magazine asks.

For our four-legged friends who would like a little bounce in their step, Pugz shoes are “what they want” and the TODAY Show’s Dylan Dreyer proved it when she packed up her pup and tried on a pair at the Orlando Global Pet Expo last month.

“All of our furry and feathery friends have something to keep their heads, shoulders, knees and toes warm, cool and dry,” said Dryer, after she tried Pugz on her own pup.

We can’t wait to see where these pet friendly products pop up next!

Already hugely successful at the 2011 Global Pet Expo in Orlando this March, Hugs President Katie showed off the Dog Wash, Better Tether and all three toys within the line of hydrating chew toys – the Hydro Bone, Hydro Ball and Hydro Saucer!

Katie said the Hydro toys, which absorb water and slowly release it as pets chew and squeeze, offer “great fitness for both the pet and the owner! Great for their hydration… there’s nothing like it!”

Prior to this TV appearance, Hugs products already have received much attention and exposure.

The award-winning Dog Wash has been a featured item in the upscale In the Company of Dogs catalog and the Hydrobone has been featured on Good Morning America and in both Dog Fancy and In the Company of Dogs magazines. The Better Tether is also set to hit store shelves this June!
