You may recall that the Miracle Meatloaf Pan has been featured on QVC twice already this year. Culinary Professional Chef Tony Notaro first featured the Miracle Meatloaf Pan on QVC’s “In the Kitchen with David” in January and the pan sold out in less than 10 minutes. The Davison-designed stuffed meatloaf pan was back on QVC in June and it sold over 7,000 units!

We decided to check back in on the pan to see what other users have had to say about it.

Yesterday, we told you about Sticks Throwing Dog Treats and the Whack-a-Mouse Interactive Cat Toy, two pet innovations that were designed for Hugs Pet Products and recently had been featured on Coupaw.com, a pet-and-deal-lover’s best friend.

Today, we’re excited to tell you even more great news about the innovative Whack-a-Mouse that we designed at Davison.

You see, a little over a year ago, the people at ThinkGeek created a short, entertaining video that featured cats, dogs and even humans playing with the Whack-a-Mouse, aptly called the “Cat Whack a Mole.”

Now, that video has reached over 180,000 hits on YouTube, ranking it as one of the top five videos when you search for “Whack-a-Mole” or “Whack-a-Mouse” on the site!

What does that mean for the Davison-designed pet product? Well, we did a little more digging and found out that those 180,000+ views translated to the Whack-a-Mouse being out of stock on ThinkGeek.com!

What a lesson in the law of supply and demand!

So, when Felicia Marshal came to Davison with a Better Way to alert parents, who may have forgotten a child in the car, we got to work.

We designed the Sound of Life alarm system, a two-piece system that sets off the car alarm when the engine is off, the doors are locked and a child is still sitting inside.

“It is triggered by any motion, any weight, any body heat… It would automatically sound your car alarm to let you know the child has been left inside,” said Marshal, when she recently took her Sound of Life idea to a Florida news station.

The NBC affiliate, First Coast News in Green Cove Springs, Florida, told Marshal’s entire story during one of their newscasts.

“One day returning from the store, Marshall said she was in such a rush to get the [groceries] out of the vehicle [that] she thought her mom had taken the child out of the car seat, but she did not and it went unnoticed for a few minutes.

“‘I had heard a lot of stories prior to that and it really didn’t bother me because I am one of those parents who says I’m always on top of everything,’ she said. ‘But once it happened to me I was thinking someone needs to do something about it.’”

Of course, that’s when Marshal took matters into her own hands and sought out our help. She also told First Coast News about that.

Pay close attention to Marshal’s story, particularly at the end, when they refer to the “Pittsburgh company” that designed the idea. Spoiler alert: it’s us!

We’ve got new proof of some of our Davison-designed pet products on the shelves of Shopko, a Midwest retailer with over 330 locations.

The “cooling end cap,” includes products that were designed at Inventionland like the Arctic Freeze Ball, Bone, Fetch and Snowflake, along with various sizes of the Chilly Mat, just went in to Shopko stores last week.

According to the Shopko website, their stores service people everywhere from small communities to mid-size cities. They carry quality name-brand merchandise, great values, pharmacy and optical services.

And, of course, now they carry Davison-designed pet products!

Like we always say, the proof is in the stores and we are always excited and proud to see our products on store shelves and online!

This incredible news from QVC comes on the heels of Half N Half Cupcake Pan excitement that has been building for months. Unfortunately for Watson, a conventional golf cart was not always helpful during his 18-hole adventures.

So, with some help from the Oakley company, Watson found a “better way” to cruise across the greens, sand traps, woods and water hazards that his golf game too often led him to.

“Golf carts have looked the same, they’ve been the same… but, let’s have fun… who doesn’t want to do that?” said Watson.

Using a hover craft principle, along with the roof, seat handles and other elements of existing golf carts, Watson created an improved cart that could hover above the geographical features of any golf course.

At Davison, we’ve used the same technology to assist auto mechanics in gliding under cars on less-than-even garage floors. Our award-winning Hover Creeper became the lowest ground-clearing creeper on the market; so, Watson may just be on to something!

His first prototype, the BW1, promises a no-bump ride across fairways, greens, water hazards, sand traps and woods. In fact, the BW1′s footprint pressure is 33-times less than a human footprint!

Of course, like many inventors, Watson admits that the public was not always supportive of his game-changing invention.

“I see a lot of stares, a lot of laughs and then they see how efficient it is… I think it’s going to really get more people involved. They’re going to just want to drive the hover craft and not play golf…” said Watson.

Who wouldn’t want to take the BW1 for a spin?

Early this year, we introduced you to our client Cathalene’s 6-in-1 Manicure Multitool, a nail-saving device that includes six essential nail-care tools.  The product filed onto store shelves in March and since its debut, has received rave reviews online from health and beauty blogs that include LUXE LIFE daily, The Budget Beauty Blog and Dollface.

Unfortunately, during her product’s journey to store shelves, Cathalene passed away. However, her dream of salon-perfect nails without having to carry around a salon’s worth of supplies is thriving and we’ve finally been able to share the 6-in-1 Manicure Multitool’s success with her family!

According to our Vice President of Business Development and Licensing, Dan Simbeck, getting in touch with Cathalene’s family was not an easy task; but, we’ve finally been able to send her husband, Delbert, and her brother, N.G. Brown, a package that included a sample of the 6-in-1 Manicure Multitool, along with the product’s very first royalty check!

“Through countless people’s efforts throughout the company, we were able to locate Delbert and help Cathalene’s memory and legacy live on through the life of her product,” said Simbeck.

Cathalene’s brother wrote us a thank you note and was kind enough to share photos of Delbert as he opened up the package.

“I think he was stunned, but happy,” said Brown.  ”Thanks for your efforts for my sister and now for Delbert.”
