Making Handmade Art, Literally

Alex Solis, a talented artist from Chicago, had an idea to incorporate his hands into his imaginative illustrations.

This creative idea incorporates something as basic as an unfinished illustration and brings it to life with interactive actions.

These creations are a form of live art that requires Solis’ imagination and creativity to first draw the illustrations and then to complete the artwork with the use of his hands.

Innovators & Creators, Product Innovation
The Bento is a single-portion takeout or homemade meal that is very common in Japanese cuisine. Traditionally, it is a box-shaped container that is filled with rice, fish or meat, with pickled or cooked vegetables.

There are different types of Bento Boxes that are elaborately and creatively arranged. The first style is the “kyaraben”, which are usually decorated to look like popular characters from Japanese cartoons, comic books or video games.

Another type of type of Bento Box is the “oekakiben”” which means the “picture bento”. This style is decorated to look like people, animals, buildings, etc.
