Another quick note, I found this book and thought it was a very good read. Fully illustrated and simple to understand, it is perfect for creative types wanting to soak up up good information fast.

Void of any elusive materials or hard reading, this books touts itself as an honest approach for students and designers looking to know more about materials and processes. The review even mentions one of the tips and tricks about everyday items — that felt is easier cut when soaked in water then frozen. This may be worth a trip to Amazon.
